In a renewed effort to end the century-old practice of changing clocks twice a year, Senator Rick Scott of Florida has reintroduced the Sunshine Protection Act in Washington, D. C.
The annual change is set to take place at 1am on the final Sunday of March, which this year falls on March 29, 2026. Whilst this may result in losing an hour of sleep, the trade-off brings brighter evenings, though mornings will remain darker for several weeks.
