A little Elmo update ❤️🦜. He came to us with a very traumatic past that caused severe plucking/self mutilation. Birds are so incredibly intelligent and emotional, and with this comes a higher sensitivity to stress. Many parrots suffer PTSD and self harm themselves due to stress. He will likely never grow full feathers and recover, but he has a happy life now. I had this just on my story but wanted to actually post it up as a reminder that birds are NOT regular pets, getting a bird is like adopt
