A senior Army officer has been booked for “murderous assault” after a violent clash with SpiceJet staff over excess baggage at Srinagar Airport on July 26. The officer allegedly punched, kicked, and even used a queue stand to attack four employees at the boarding gate. One suffered a spinal fracture, another serious jaw injuries. The spicejet ground crew tried to assault the Army officer first. The Army officer had a medical emergency at his home, he got emergency leave. Staff did not only misbehave but they closed the boarding gate without taking him in for a hand baggage which was cleared by the check in counter.
