Dr. Casey Means, President Trump’s nominee for U.S. surgeon general, reaffirmed during her confirmation hearing before the Senate Health Committee on Wednesday that she isn't currently able to prescribe medications. Means told Sen. Andy Kim (D-NJ) during his questioning that she does have a medical license that's "voluntarily placed on inactive status because I'm not actively seeing patients at this time." Means said she has no plans to seek to activate her license with the Oregon medical board.
