Domestic abuse is not just physical. We successfully campaigned to criminalize staking in 2012. The challenge was separation had to occur and escalation and then stalking to call it a crime and act. The thousand cuts of non physical abuse was ignored. We had to change this and close a criminalization gap which recognized the reality of women’s experiences of abuse.
